Summer Solstice and a Full Moon

Happening now, in the U.K. starting at about 1:00 A.M. UTC.

A full moon, rising on the Solstice.

For this start of summer, I’ll be having a wave offering of home brewed Crisp Apple Cider. The burnt offering will be a nice fired full meat “combo” pizza.

Prepare, and enjoy.

Some thoughts to go with it? A joyous celebration:

Commence this special celebration at the time of your choosing. I’m starting now, in sync with UTC, but will continue well into local night and moonset. As this starts at the middle of the night, the 24 hour span reaches into tomorrow as well, so if you miss it tonight, tomorrow is fine too!

For those of technical interest:

Alternatively, viewers can also go to to watch the broadcast, snap and share photos, chat with other audience members, interact with the hosts and personally control Slooh’s telescopes.

During the event, astronomers will discuss the significance of the two events – the solstice and the full moon – happening at the same time. They will explore the importance of the solstice as a seasonal celebration in cultures across the world and throughout history.

Once again the Terra – Luna pair have circled the Solar dance floor, the northern hemisphere is now exposed to the solar furnace and the southern one the cold of deep space. Enjoy! soon enough that orientation will reverse and it will be our turn to shiver.
For the the time being I am enjoying the spell of growing green life all around me and the promise of the sun warmed bounty from the fruitful earth. Consumed the first tasty morsels today, A few Giant Blackberries, a hint of the Summer harvest to come 8-).
Thanks be to the GOD that makes this miracle of sun, water and carbon…pg

It’s the shortest day here in Victoria DownUnder. It’s cold, wet and windy. There’s no chance of seeing the moon and my poor other half has to go to town for their ‘Festival of Light’. I decided that the best place to be after a ‘flu jab is indoors, with a cheerful glass in hand!

Mid June and still need a heater, this is less then cool! ground still wet from yesterdays 1/4″ rain.
Did do a Burnt Offerings&Libations to the StrawBerry Moon as the clouds parted last night. Perfect alignment up the garden path. Salutations to the GOD of carbon and life!…pg
